Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Assistant Director is responsible for the planning and execution of the undergraduate admissions communication plan in our CRM system (Slate). The Assistant Director works closely with the Directors in Admissions to plan and strategize traditional and electronic communication sequences with prospective, applied, and accepted students. The Assistant Director provides detailed analytical reports on enrollment events such as open houses and admitted students’ events, evaluating data and creating recommendations for alignment with the strategic enrollment plan. The Assistant Director also provides coverage for off-campus recruitment events as assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and develop the Parent Portal
- Manage and develop the admissions CRM (Slate)
- This includes oversight of the inquiry base, communications stream, application processing and data reporting
- Oversee annual communication planning, analyze and report on relevant data, and make adjustments and recommendations accordingly
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive training documentation pertaining to the systems and associated processes, and train college personnel in the use of Slate
- Serve as liaison to Office of Marketing and Communications
- Provide content and oversight for various website pages; this position will be responsible for regular updates and collaborating with departments to obtain content
- Develop and present reporting on marketing and communication
- Assist with developing and executing automated communication flows (i.e. drip e-mail and text message campaigns) campaigns, identifying target audiences, proofing messages, and monitoring campaign metrics and performance
- Participate in the development of print, video, email, and other external and internal agents (staff, faculty, designers, photographers et al.) when appropriate, and act as a key contributor to writing copy for enrollment projects
- Provide data analysis to the Vice President, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management on strategic admission initiatives
- Conduct outreach and follow-up, to prospective students and applicants
- Review and recommend decisions on applications to the college from assigned territories/alphabet
- Serve on institutional committees as assigned by the AVP for Enrollment Management
- Present NJCU to external and internal constituencies as needed and directed by the AVP for Enrollment Management
- Supports Enrollment Directors with their use of CRM system and communication plans
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE: Five plus (5+) years in admissions and/or relevant higher education marketing or communications experience.
PREFERRED:
- Experience creating and or editing websites and/or website content.
- Master's Degree

- Familiarity with Slate or similar CRM in a higher education setting
- Ability to distill complex information into accessible messaging for different constituencies
- Ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Experience in managing customer relationships at executive levels
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Detail-Oriented Demonstrated written communication skills
- Demonstrates project management skills
- Evidence of strong leadership skills and a successful track record of developing others through coaching, mentoring, motivating and training
- Interest in advancing change
- Ability to analyze and solve problems with innovative, creative solutions
- Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
