Job Description
Overview:
The Director of Community Standards and Restorative Practice will work with the Dean of Student’s office assisting in the adjudication of violations of the Student Conduct Code and to incorporate restorative practices when necessary to build and heal the campus community. In addition, the Director will assist in the development and maintenance of an environment which is conducive to students' academic success, personal growth and safety within the campus community. This position will address behavioral concerns and coordinate restorative practice and student intervention initiatives, educational programs and prevention workshops.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with proven office administration and customer service skills as a higher education administrator
- Experience in managing and deescalating crisis situations
- Knowledge of issues regarding diverse student populations
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of diverse student populations, including varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Demonstrates an understanding of diverse community standards methods including restorative practice, mediation, de-escalation and student conduct
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using a web-based conduct software platform to initiate, track, and record student conduct matters
- Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, excel and web-based applications
- Demonstrated experience training, supervising and evaluating undergraduate student staff members
- Familiarity with federal compliance related to student conduct work including FERPA, Clery and Title IX
- Experience supporting student conduct processes at a college/university
- Demonstrated experience adjudicating student conduct cases using an educational and consistent approach
- Ability to deal tactfully resolving any problems that arise by using independent judgment
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling highly confidential information and work with confidential and time sensitive materials
- Ability to exercise sound judgment

Office activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and interaction with computer equipment; occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 5-10 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule according to departmental needs, which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
