Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Leadership Giving Associate will maintain a portfolio of prospects, qualify, and help build pipeline, directly solicit gifts of $1500+, engage prospects and donors with the university and their areas of interest, and partner with colleagues throughout UR&D to deepen affinity and cultivate the donor journey.
Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Senior Director, maintain a portfolio of donors and prospects and solicit annual leadership gifts up to $24,999.
  • Project and administrative support, including but not limited to, basic clerical functions, event and project coordination, and prospect research.
  • Coordinate stewardship activities.
  • Coordinate cultivation activities, including board/council committee activities.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Handles tasks with grace and committed to providing quality customer service. Strong work ethic and professionalism complemented by a positive attitude and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, and integrity. Ability to solicit a donation both verbally and in writing via email and/or letter. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people—volunteers, prospects, donors, faculty, staff, students, and vendors. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be discrete in handling confidential information. Ability to perform clerical work involving sound judgment, accuracy, and efficiency. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with program staff, academic departments, the Vice President's office, and a variety of offices and individuals on and off campus. Working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, databases, e-mail, webpages and social media.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Higher education and fundraising experience preferred.

Valid California Driver's License required.

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $3,518 to $6,791 per month.
