Job Description
The Coordinator of Science and Student Development for TRIO Student Support Services will be responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of all science programs for Students Support Services students and all other eligible students in close collaboration with the Science Department, including assessment of individual and class instruction and coordination of paraprofessionals and tutors. Additionally, the coordinator will also assist with the coordination, development, and implementation of all specially designed advising programs for program students.
Please Note: This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon funding.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science
- Experience with and ability to plan, organize and supervise programs in the area of science
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred in science, education, counseling, or related field
- One to two years of experience working with TRIO programs or other programs focused on low-income, first-generation college students
- Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of structure, practices, and procedures of counseling and advising programs
- Ability to function effectively as a member of both the student development staff and the program as a whole and to be well regarded by the administrators, faculty and staff of the university

Office activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and interaction with computer equipment; occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 5-10 pounds.
