Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center and lead by the Assistant Director of Internship Services, this position coordinates the Learning Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) that serves underrepresented students, prioritizing first generation, current or former foster youth, and homeless students or at risk of homelessness in securing on-campus and off-campus employment. Overseeing student recruitment, on- and off- campus employer recruitment, program maintenance, reporting and compliance set by the California Student Aid Commission and University standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Employment Program Coordination: Manage the application, job posting, matching and evaluation process through the Career Services Management System; ensure that the system is fully maximized by students, employers, the Career Services staff, and the campus community. Recruit and promote the employment program opportunities for eligible student populations (undergraduate, and credential students, etc.) and prioritizing by program requirements (i.e., first generation, low-income, foster youth, students at risk of homelessness, etc.)
- Program Reporting, Student Eligibility and Compliance: Verifies student eligibility in partnership with financial aid and communicates to students and employers when no longer in compliance. Designs and conducts program evaluations to continually improve program effectiveness.
- Employer Development: Establish and build relationships with a wide range of on-campus and off-campus employers, (including local, regional, national, and international) and those that demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; maintain regular communication with targeted employers, including alumni employers, via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications.
- Experience in relationship building with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with employers and alumni groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the University, alumni, other constituents, and the public.

- Excellent written communication skills, includes editing and proofreading to produce quality marketing materials. Strong writing skills with the ability to compose creative and concise communications, which are both informative and accurate.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to be persuasive.
- Strong critical thinking skills; must be able to analyze a problem or opportunity and identify appropriate strategies.
- Familiarity with suite of Microsoft tools including Power Point, Excel and Word, Teams, OneDrive; demonstrated experience using survey analysis tools and related databases, including Access.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree (preferred disciplines include: Business/Human Resources, Student Development/Higher Education, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations) or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in student service program, human resources or related field required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in developing and facilitating programs and partnerships; making presentations; and exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Valid CA Driver License required.

Compensation
Hiring Range: $4,610 - 5,317 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,610 - $6,556 per month
Benefits

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
