Job Summary
The case manager works to address the needs of students who struggle in such areas as psychological health, physical health, disordered eating, relationship issues, economic concerns, and social adjustment through a variety of interventions, referrals, and follow up services. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of mental health services required. Oral communication skills to communicate diplomatically and effectively with co-workers, staff, and departmental staff. Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues and coordinate with others. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team. Ability to consistently report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position. Ability to consistently be present at job/work. Comply with HIPAA Health Care Privacy and Security Law. Comply with SHS policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ability to prepare and lead group discussions, prepares, and delivers informational talks. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. General computer literacy for health promotion and research. Ability to effectively and sensitively interact in a culturally and ethnically diverse university community. Knowledge in research methodology and data analysis.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Required: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or related fields and four (4) years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.
Preferred: MSW or LCSW preferred; will consider other licensed mental health professionals. Background in eating disorders/disordered eating concerns preferred, gender affirming care services and needs, and sexual assault counseling and/or crisis intervention preferred.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,732 - $8,176 per month

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
