Job Summary
This position coordinates an office of approximately 95 academic employees, which includes 23 tenured/tenure-track faculty 1 FERP, 40 Lecturers, 17 Teaching Associates, and 14 Graduate Assistants; ftes of 1,135.80 with three BAs (947) majors and second majors, a minor (74) and an MA (21). Serves as the primary resource for information regarding Department policy and practice for faculty, students, and staff providing continuity in policy and procedure; maintains Department budget and records; and particularly budget and travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs data entry of budget allocations and expenditures and maintains account balances with CMS.
- Understand, disseminate, and implement procedures, policies, and practices.
- Serves as primary liaison between student, faculty, administrators, and the public.
- Departmental record-keeping, records processing, reports, and written material preparation.
- Maintains all required department personnel file and records.
- Plan events or activities with chairs input.
Ability to carry out professionally complex assignments and independently plan and develop sound approaches and solutions to meet department's program, faculty, and student needs. Knowledge of budget and fiscal resources, allocations, and accountability. Provide professional representation for the department to all constituencies. Develop and deliver essential information through written and oral interactions. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with program faculty, academic departments, the dean's office, and a variety of offices and individuals on and off campus. Creating and implement appropriate programs/events that foster student, faculty, campus, and local community relations. Working knowledge of Windows, Word, e-mail, spreadsheet, databases (CMS), and webpages.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Academic department experience preferred.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position to June 30, 2024 with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
