Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director, Data Management & Administration, the incumbent provides server administration configuration and security support as well as development of advance visualization dashboards. Manages dashboard publications, optimizations, and data connections. Publishes visualization documents and manages data. Navigates Oracle databases, optimizes SQL scripts and procedures. This position also assists with design and development of visualizations and dashboards, develops SQL queries and stored procedures to extract data from multiple data stores.
Key Responsibilities

  • Visualization server administration including upgrades, tuning, security and management.
  • Provide leadership with advance knowledge of Visualization Creation, optimization, and server and site administration.
  • Design and develop complex visualizations and dashboards as directed.
  • Interact with users and IR&A staff team members and understand their requirements. Provide analysis of problems and recommend solutions.
  • Review, create, develop, and manage deployment of Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and objects to extract data from multiple data stores.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge of industry best practices, visualization tools, such as Tableau & Power BI is required. Working knowledge of SQL, Oracle database, and Python is recommended. Working knowledge of analytics, BI, and basic understanding of statistics and programming languages.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field and two years of related experience required. Graduate study in computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, public or business administration, or engineering, relevant work experience in Institutional Research preferred.

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $56,136 to 138,564 per year. The targeted salary may be set as high as $80,000 per year based on experience.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
