Job Summary
The Assistant Admissions Processor assists the admission unit by reviewing high school transcripts and helps to determine admissibility of first-time, first-year applicants. The position will regularly communicate with students, parents, and counselors, about the admission process and admission requirements; review residency status for admission and tuition purposes; conduct data entry of application information for all new applicants to the University; and enter and update data from various documents to the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) through the use of PeopleSoft.
Key Responsibilities
- Interprets and provides admission information for first-time, first-year applicants. Reviews residence status, high school transcripts for GPA, college preparatory course requirements, and test scores required for admission eligibility. Responsible for the processing of incoming transcripts to include sorting, screening, and scanning to help determine student application status based on minimum admission requirements.
- Enter, update, analyze, student data in the CRM database using PeopleSoft. Utilization of various software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook for communication and tracking of student files. Responsible for initial review of first-time, first-year applications.
- Responsible for communicating information regarding university policies and procedures for admission to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
Data entry/computer (PeopleSoft) experience. Preferred experience with various software packages such as Microsoft windows, Microsoft excel, Microsoft word and Microsoft PowerPoint and Onbase. Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, staff and others regarding admission requirements, policies and procedures and promote a "student friendly service" image of Enrollment Services. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with a large volume of documents, organize and coordinate different clerical tasks, set deadlines, and complete projects successfully. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply complex unit, department and university policy and procedures. Demonstrated ability to communicate with ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Maintains a safe work environment. Communicates with the University community in a civil manner. Must have the ability to analyze and determine eligibility and to explain State policies and requirements to parents, applicants, counselors, and the general public. Must have the ability to determine applicants/student's pathway to college readiness. Ability to learn the PeopleSoft Student Information System for applicant processing, transcript processing, and record maintenance. Additional knowledge is preferred for processing specialized applicants: i.e. transfer, impacted majors, early admission program, returning, and disqualified applicants. Must have the ability to work on multiple semesters concurrently. Treats all customers (students, faculty, and staff colleagues) with dignity and respect, empathy, fairness, and professionalism, consistent with the university mission, values, and strategic vision. Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor. Ensures quality, usability, and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,338 - $4,097 per month

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
