Job Summary
The Director of Digital Engagement provides alumni research, digital and personal engagement, and supports administrative activities of the University Relations Department that enable broader alumni connectivity. The Director creates and executes an outcome-based plan to maximize alumni and constituent digital engagement using communications, and campus-wide resources to strengthen key relationships with target alumni groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages the “first point of contact” process for alumni, potential donors, or friends who engage in virtual communities of CSULB. Responsible for up to 100 daily touch points using digital tools such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Initiates strategies for further cultivation and oversee the development of creative engagement strategies for online presence that integrates web, social, mobile, email, mentoring, and other platforms and reaches target audiences.
- Manages outreach efforts and execute campaigns that increase donor participation and annual donations through segmenting and innovative multi-channel outreach.
- Tracks and manages databases for virtual community development targets and logistics and notices for all virtual community activities.
- Oversees the development of content, promotion, and distribution of special projects to virtual communities such as Beach Nexus and the annual report.
Ability to establish goals and priorities for the various entities. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple, complex activities simultaneously. Demonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with both internal and external constituents. Highly effective supervisory skills. Strong organizational skills.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience required.

Compensation
The targeted salary may be set as high as $85,608 per year, commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $68,664 to $102,996 per year.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
