Job Description

The Multimedia Design Specialist is a member of a dynamic Teaching Innovation Team at Ball State University. This professional will conceptualize, design, and execute effective, impactful, and accessible multimedia graphics, videos, and animation for programs and courses. Position Function: The Multimedia Design Specialist is a member of the Teaching Innovation Team and conceptualizes, designs, and executes effective, impactful, and accessible multimedia graphics, videos, and animation for programs and courses. This professional is responsible for all graphic design aspects of projects, from research to delivery, as well as interpreting Ball State’s brand for the digital classroom. This person has a strong grasp of UDL (Universal Design for Learning) Principles and accessibility standards. Additionally, this individual will advise a team of graduate assistants with demonstrated ability in videography, photography, animation, graphic design and more to accomplish strategic goals. To that end, the Multimedia Design Specialist must be highly reflective, a strong communicator, engaged listener, and skilled manager.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. At least one year of experience in a similar role as demonstrated by a portfolio of multimedia design content showcasing skills and experience. A t least one year of experience in multimedia production using a variety of software and programs. Ability to collaborate on long-term and short-term projects. Excellent knowledge of storyboarding, visual design principles and animation. Artistic, with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas or processes to a broad array of audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Enthusiasm for learning new technologies. Experience brainstorming ideas and concepts for new projects and working collaboratively with other team members.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of employment. Experience with advising graduate students. Proficient and effective interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of university policies and procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, student life, and support services.
