Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Special Education

The Department of Special Education has an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Special Education available beginning August 2023. Major responsibilities include teaching both on campus and online courses in mild/moderate disabilities, participation in departmental and program area meetings. Service on departmental, college and university committees is required.

Position Function: Teach on campus and online mild/moderate disabilities special education courses. Participate in departmental and program area faculty meetings. Maintain flexible office hours during the week to best support students. Collaborate with other faculty in the department as appropriate. Other responsibilities as assigned by the department chairperson. Possible summer teaching is available if desired.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned Masters Degree in Special Education from an accredited institution. Experience in schools working directly with students with disabilities.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience working in schools among students with mild/moderate disabilities. Active role in special education professional organizations. Successful college-level teaching experience. Experience with online course delivery technology. Interest in quality educator preparation programs for special education teachers.
