Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides operational support, analysis and guidance for Staff HR ADA leaves and employee relations programs.

  • Employee relations & HR Operations programmatic support
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of general human resources practices and campus procedures and policies. General knowledge of ADA, FEHA and other leave-related laws and policies. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to compose letters and memos in a professional and business-like manner. Ability to interact in a positive, professional manner with staff, ASMs, union representatives and managers. Communicates with the University community in a civil and articulate manner. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to multi-task effectively and have experience in handling more than one assignment at a time. Proven ability to research and understand learn HR-related university policies and develop a wide variety of procedures relating to office administration standards and policies. Ability to handle employee relations, labor relations and leave of absence matters in a public sector higher education union environment. Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic calendaring. Ability to complete work with accuracy while maintaining internal deadlines and schedules. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing office environment. Ability to understand and accomplish overall office goals by pro-actively working as a team member. Ability to learn HR information systems. PeopleSoft experience is preferred. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize work assignments.

Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $4,058 to $7,407 per month.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for three (3) months, may be extended based on operational needs. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
