Summary

Under the supervision of the Directors of the Bickerstaff Academic Center, this position oversees and provides administrative support for the Bickerstaff Academic Center (BAC) staff and its programs. Duties include the professional management of all aspects of the reception area including greeting visitors/clients, appointment intake, quick questions, record/book keeping, payroll time keeping, maintaining office supply needs, assisting with the daytime study hall environment, coordinating all technological support services for the Center staff and study hall area, providing clerical assistance to the Center staff, and maintaining the organization and appearance of the Bickerstaff Academic Center.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the reception area. Organize and make the front office and reception area presentable daily.
  • Greet visitors at the reception desk and appropriately announce visitors to staff.
  • Time Keeping and Expenditure Tracking.
  • Front Desk Operations.
  • Maintain working knowledge and comply with all NCAA compliance, Big West.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Demonstrate ability to interpret and apply administrative office policies and procedures. Demonstrate Microsoft Office processing skills to prepare spreadsheets, manuals and other documents/presentations. Strong communication and people skills. Experience working in an environment that requires constant change and adaption to workload priorities, ability to multi-task. Experience establishing and maintaining a cooperative working relationship through verbal and written modes. Experience interacting and communicating with ethnically and culturally diverse population.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required.
  • Preferred work experience using a student information system/database. Preferred work experience with human resources system/database.

Compensation

The salary range for this classification is $2,503.50 to $3,684.75 per month.

Time Base

0.75 time-base/30 hours per week position for (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
