The Ball State University Libraries is looking for a talented librarian to join our committed and highly-engaged team of professionals as Metadata and Digital Resources Developer. Joining colleagues in the Metadata and Digital Initiatives unit, the Metadata and Digital Resources Developer will create metadata and ensure quality and standards compliance for collections in our Digital Media Repository, a full-text searchable database of over 250,000 digital assets in over 300 collections of primary source materials and learning objects. The repository is visited by over 115,000 researchers per year who view over 800,000 individual digital resources annually. Position Function: The Video Producer for Lifetime Learning will oversee the creation of all video content for Ball State’s Lifetime Learning initiative, and will assist the Digital Corps in additional video production work to support the Ball State campus. As Ball State continues to develop additional Lifetime Learning course options, the Video Producer will be involved in all aspects of creating impactful, high-quality videos to assist learners. The Video Producer will be actively involved in the early stages of content creation, like working with subject-matter experts to determine what content will be created. Then, the Video Producer will be involved in every aspect of the production process, from writing and shooting to editing and delivery. Production support for the Video Producer will be provided by the staff and students of the Ball State Digital Corps.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in video production or a related technical field from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in video production equivalent to two years. Or, a High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in video production equivalent to four years.

Proficiency in non-linear editing software (Premiere Pro). Familiarity with motion graphics software (After Effects). Knowledge of video production equipment, including cameras, lights, microphones.

Minimum Other: Excellent communication and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrable portfolio showcasing work in all areas of video production: pre-production, on-set production, and post-production.

The minimum salary for this position is: $53,000.00
