Job Description
The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor in Strategic Communication available August 2023.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the strategic communication advertising and public relations majors; publishing peer-reviewed scholarship, and providing service to the college and university.
The successful incumbent may have the opportunity to seek an appointment as the Marilyn Weaver Faculty Fellow. The fellowship, which may be renewed for up to three years, offers a supplementary salary stipend and additional financial support for scholarship and/or projects.

Position Function: Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic communication, publishing peer-reviewed scholarship, and providing service to the college and university.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in advertising, public relations, journalism, mass communications, or closely related field from an accredited institution within one year of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of peer-reviewed publications; evidence of teaching effectiveness; two years of full-time professional experience in strategic communication (e.g., advertising and/or public relations); a professional or academic emphasis in digital, analytics, sports, health, or international strategic communication. Experience or certification in change management and/or project management.
