Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Technology Strategy this position coordinates Student Perception of Teaching (SPOT), creates and maintains survey assessments, and performs statistical analysis. This position will serve as the technical coordinator in the campus wide management, and setup and implementation of SPOT each semester.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of research techniques. Knowledge of the methods of gathering and analyzing research data. Knowledge of statistical procedures and principles. Working knowledge of desktop word processing and spreadsheet software. Working knowledge of survey/evaluation software is required (Qualtrics is preferred). Ability to assist in preparation of questionnaires. Ability to gather, compile and analyze research data. Ability to perform basic statistical analyses using Computer-based software, e.g., SAS or SPSS. Ability to present data in various media (e.g., paper, electronic, web-based). Expert knowledge of website utilities. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to manage, and supervise a team of staff, and/or student workers. Ability to work collaboratively and facilitate a customer service orientation.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Recent relevant work experience in technical research or statistical analysis including interpretation and presentation of data will be given due consideration. Previous experience and understanding of managing, and administering surveys, and survey tools (such as Qualtrics) is highly desired. Graduate study in the social sciences, economics, mathematics, statistics, public or business administration, or engineering is highly desired.

The salary range for this classification is $4,170 to $7,545 per month.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Full-time temporary position for two (2) years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
