Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Faculty Affairs, the incumbent independently performs a variety of compensation functions for temporary faculty and TA/GA appointments; salary increase programs; summer term appointments; faculty additional employment; compensation analysis/reports; and other faculty affairs duties as assigned. The incumbent plans, researches, documents; implements, and trains users on solutions for related Faculty Affairs business practices and processes within the integrated suite of business applications such as PeopleSoft and CHRS. The incumbent serves as a lead to the Faculty Affairs Employment Analyst and a compensation contact person in Faculty Affairs for colleges and departments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees compensation processes and ensures compliance for temporary faculty and TA/GA appointments.
  • Implements negotiated salary increase programs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of federal, state, local, CSU System, and Collective Bargaining Agreement compliance requirements related to faculty compensation. Knowledge of fundamentals of Human Relations practices. Working knowledge of operational and analytical skills especially as they relate to the use of PeopleSoft HR system to enhance the performance of the operations of Faculty Affairs. Ability to investigate, analyze, and anticipate problems and address them proactively. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skill in the research, development, and evaluation of policies, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative processes. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data. Strong team leadership and management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree (Business, Human Resources) or related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Experience in human resources, higher education, and/or faculty compensation preferred. Experience entering, reviewing, auditing, and reporting data preferred.

Compensation
The salary range for this classification is $10,180 to $10,180 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
