Job Summary
The Employment Coordinator provides administrative support to support the Employment team, including coordinating the recruitment and Emergency hire process, appointment letter processing, and advertisement management. This position provides quality customer service to campus staff and applicants at the counter, over the telephone, and via email, answering a wide variety of questions, providing referrals to the appropriate person and/or department, and assisting with various requests.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to compose letters and memos in a professional and business-like manner. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to present to managers and leads .Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to multi-task effectively and have experience in handling more than one assignment at a time. Proven ability to research and understand learn HR-related university policies and develop a wide variety of procedures relating to office administration standards and policies. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic calendaring. Ability to complete work with accuracy while maintaining internal deadlines and schedules. Knowledge of human resources and CSULB policies and procedures preferred. Ability to learn HR information systems. PeopleSoft experience is preferred. PageUp experience preferred.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to three years of related experience required. Human Resources experience desired.

Up to $48,156/year based on experience.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
