Job Summary
The Assistant Director will provide leadership to the Institute by overseeing and developing programs as well as through fundraising and grant development. The Assistant Director will also provide input on program content, program delivery, and develop budgets for programs and Institute support.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with fundraising, grant submissions and account management; create and collect KPIs
  • Work with Institute team to oversee project accounts and budgeting
  • Design and deliver business programming for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and other community partners
  • Administer the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) process for grants and contracts
  • Organize and manage campus programs such as: Apostle Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, Sunstone Innovation Challenge @ CSULB, Apostle Incubator, Sunstone CSU Startup Launch, Demo Day Showcase
  • Organize and manage off-campus programs such as: Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) partner programs and Centro Community Hispanic Association (Centro CHA) programs
  • Supervise interns, student employees and staff on relevant projects

Must possess mentoring skills. Ability to work with diverse communities. Skilled with data analysis/data management. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, and an effective listener.

Ability to communicate professionally, both written and verbal, with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and other partners/clients. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as marketing, management, finance, economics, etc. and two (2) years of related experience required. Graduate degree in a business-related field, such as an MBA, MS, etc. and two (2) years of related experience preferred.
Licenses / Certificates
Valid California driver's license preferred.
Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Nonexempt
The salary range for this classification is $3,288 to $6,347 per month.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base
Full-time temporary position for two (2) years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
