Job Summary
The Residency Coordinator determines California residency for tuition purposes for new and continuing students, communicates with students extensively, and provides clear, concise, and accurate information. The Residency Coordinator serves as a resource person for the interpretation of campus and state requirements and policies governing California residency and dissemination of this information to staff, faculty, students, and the general public. The Residency Coordinator is responsible for training new and continuing staff in residency determination.
Key Responsibilities
- Determines residency of complex cases for new and continuing students.
- Acts as a resource person for interpreting campus and state regulations/policies governing admissions and residency, and disseminates the information to staff, faculty, students, and the general public.
Demonstrated ability to perform complex clerical and organizational tasks and successfully coordinate many projects, each with distinct deadlines and procedures. Demonstrated ability to train others in complex procedures and to monitor accuracy and quality of others' work. Demonstrated hands-on experience with automated information systems with regard to data entry and coding procedures. Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures in an academic environment, preferred. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with a diverse staff and University community. Maintains a safe work environment. Treats all customers (students, faculty. and staff colleagues) with dignity and respect, empathy, fairness, and professionalism, consistent with the university mission, values, and strategic vision. Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor. Ensures quality, usability, and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required. Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in applicable field preferred.

Compensation
The salary range for this classification is $3,276 to $5,148 per month.

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
