- Coordinate and execute daily CIE-ISS office support including customer service and operations.
- Coordinate in-person and virtual front office traffic for drop-ins and appointments (e.g., notification to advisors on changes and cancellations, office closures, etc.).
- Answer inquiries via email, phone and in-person regarding general visa information, health insurance, workshop schedules, campus resources, etc.
- Provide clerical support for International Student and Scholar Services office including DSO duties, management of the health insurance program for international students.
Thorough knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Functional knowledge of and skills of standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Experience organizing programs and events. Expertise in Microsoft Office products and complex database systems. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to communicate with people in a professional and effective manner. Ability to work independently with only general guidance and direction, set priorities, and assume full responsibility of completion of assignments. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Understands issues from a broad perspective in order to solve problems and resolve conflicts. Ability to supervise others; exercise tact, courtesy, alertness and good judgment responding to others. Organizational, interpersonal and inter-cultural communication skills are very important in this position since the incumbent will come in contact and must work with every department within CPIE and many campus departments and interact with international students and faculty.
