Ball State University’s R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning, Department of Architecture seek a full-time contract position beginning August 19, 2022. The Department of Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and home to a vibrant and collegial work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate level architecture design studios as well as support courses in one or more of the following areas: architectural programming; research methods; architectural building technology (methods and materials of architectural construction); environmental systems (passive and active systems); structures; building systems integration; site design; history and theory of urban design.
Teaching: A base load of 24 hours per academic year will be assigned to teaching. This base load normally consists of 12 hours, each semester, which might include: a design studio (6-hour load) and two lecture/seminar courses (3-hour load each) or four lecture/seminar courses (3-hour load each).
Other: The faculty member may be required to perform other related duties and service as assigned by the Department Chairperson in place of a portion of the teaching load.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional degree in architecture (Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture); demonstrated ability to teach design studio and related courses in a professional degree program; professional license in architecture or a PhD; professional practice experience; evidence of outstanding design skills and excellence in architectural design work; evidence of contributions to the profession; evidence of the potential for teaching excellence; evidence of the potential for quality scholarship
