Transfer Enrollment and Articulation Analyst - Professional Services Specialist IV

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Enrollment Management, the Transfer Enrollment and Articulation Analyst is responsible for the maintenance of articulation and transfer agreements, and evaluation of transfer credit. Provides professional assistance and serves as a resource for students, staff, and faculty in determining appropriate interpretation and application of university policies and procedures as they relate to transfer credit. Additional responsibilities include pre-advisement and outreach and retention campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and evaluate transcripts from national and international institutions as well as verifying the appropriate accreditation status of a transfer institution to determine transferability.
  • Review and evaluate military, credits by exam (AP, CLEP, IB, DSST, etc.) and non-traditional credit for eligibility in the placement of credit.
  • Assists with programming and maintenance of transfer articulation rules in PeopleSoft and university systems.
  • Manage the course articulation data in PeopleSoft while working with the Registrar’s Office and Degree Audit Coordinator to resolve errors and issues and maintain data integrity.
  • Interpret and apply university policies relating to transfer credits and graduation requirements.
  • Review, track and update existing articulation, dual-admission, and dual-enrollment agreements.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding transfer credit and assists with the coordination of services and programs for transfer students.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends in transfer services, identifies problem areas and makes recommendations to improve transfer resources and services for new transfer students and academic departments.
  • Conducts informational seminars for new faculty and staff on transfer policies and issues with emphasis on the advisement of new transfer students.
  • Be able to discuss degree completion options and interpret general education requirements with transfer prospects, applicants, and continuing students.
  • Maintains and updates the transfer evaluation web pages.
  • Ability to present to small and large groups of people in various types of venues.
  • Collaborate with University Admissions and attend recruitment events.
  • Work with academic colleges and collaborate with New Student Programs as needed.
  • Provides services that meet the needs of a diverse and multi-cultural student population.
  • Assist the director in meeting overall department goals.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrate careful and objective consideration of information.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and work with various campus and community programs/partners.
  • Flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to the team environment.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to think critically, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal skills and an in-depth understanding of student support services.

EXPERIENCE: One to three (1-3) years of experience in higher education.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in higher education related to transfer, articulations and evaluations, student records, and admissions.
  • Experience reviewing college transcript information.
  • Experience with student information and/or degree audit systems.
