The School of Music invites nominations and applications for one year contract faculty Assistant Teaching Professor of Music Education beginning August of 2022 to teach music education courses as part of the music education curriculum.

Description: Undergraduate teaching assignments will include choral music methods; introduction to music education; voice techniques; choral laboratory, specialized methods for vocal and general majors; field experience and student teacher supervision; and other courses based on additional expertise of the candidate and the needs of the school.
Graduate teaching assignments will be assigned based on the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the school.
Faculty members are also expected to function as collaborative, innovative, inclusive and adaptive members of the College of Fine Arts community, both within and beyond one’s home unit. All College of Fine Arts faculty are expected to be quality teachers, productive in creative and/or scholarly work, engaged in public service activities, and contributors to the Ball State and Muncie communities and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Music Education from an accredited college or university. K-12 music teaching experience. Collegiate teaching experience (faculty or graduate teaching assistant).
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Music Education from an accredited college or university. Significant K-12 music teaching experience. Collegiate teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels (including thesis/dissertation supervision). A documented history of professional productivity in Music Education as a requisite to serving on the university graduate faculty.
