Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Landscape Architecture

Job Description

The Department of Landscape Architecture has a one year non-tenure-line faculty position available August 2022. Primary responsibilities include teaching engineering courses, studios, and seminars in all professional programs, in teams and individual.

Duties and Responsibilities: This is a 100% teaching appointment. Teaching responsibilities will include landscape architecture courses at all undergraduate and graduate levels, and potentially interdisciplinary courses in the college. Applicant must demonstrate the capacity to teach in design studios and one or more of the following areas: design process (e.g., land/site analysis, landscape ecology/environmental systems, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation), sustainable landscape construction processes and technologies, digital applications (including GIS), graphic communication, and design build.
There may also be opportunities to engage in scholarship and service, or may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution or Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution and terminal degree in a related profession.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution or related discipline with an established design practice/research agenda; professional licensure; exemplary studio teaching experience; expertise in one or more of the following areas: landscape ecology and advanced implementation technology; sustainable site engineering/construction technologies; graphic communication (digital and hand-drawn techniques); digital applications, including GIS; research and design methodologies; design build. Three to five recent years of experience in landscape architecture or related practice.
