Ball State University welcomes applications for Director of Operations for BSU CAP Indy. This position is responsible for managing all operations of the CAP: Indy Center, based in Indianapolis, which supports Indianapolis located Ball State academic programs, other Ball State outreach and engagement activities, and liaison with community and professional organizations and activities in that location. Responsibilities include facility management; program and event planning; organization and preparation of facility for daily use and special events.

Position Function: Manage all operations of the CAP: Indy Center, based in Indianapolis, which supports Indianapolis located Ball State academic programs, other Ball State outreach and engagement activities, and liaison with community and professional organizations and activities in that location. Responsibilities include facility management; program and event planning; facilitation of BSU community outreach programs; outreach with allied professional organizations; registration and evaluation services for professional development programs and special university events offered in this geographic area; organization and preparation of facility for daily use and special events; maintenance of a safe, educational and ecologically friendly environment while managing equipment, design studios, and electronic classrooms; and coordinating technology support for teaching, research, and community service. This position will involve working with diverse audiences of students, faculty, university staff and administrators as well as a variety of municipal, community, and professional partners. This position will amplify the presence of the BSU CAP Indianapolis center both in Indianapolis and in the university.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 5 years of administration coordination and/or event planning. Strong oral and written communication skills; strong organization and time management skills; ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in marketing, public relations, business, OR design disciplines. At least three years of experience in event marketing, planning, and coordination; progressive administrative responsibilities, preferably in the higher education environment; comprehensive experience in leadership, staff management, and directing a facility. Demonstrated knowledge of the dynamics of the relationship between event services and university operations.
