Assistant Director of Academic Guidance

Ball State University

Indiana Academy welcomes applications for Assistant Director of Academic Guidance. This position will provide a systematic program of advisement and guidance services to Academy students.

The Indiana Academy serves approximately 250 juniors and seniors who are gifted and talented from across the state of Indiana and through its international program. The Indiana Academy’s major purpose is to provide educational opportunities appropriate to the ability and development of its students. It is a primarily residential high school with several local non-residential students. Through various outreach programs, the Indiana Academy strives to stimulate and enable vitality in educational programs for students who are academically gifted. The Academy is committed to creating innovative programs and practices that attract, retain, and nurture a diverse Academy community.

Minimum Qualifications: Earned master’s degree in counseling and academic guidance or in pupil personnel services from a regionally accredited institution. One year academic counseling experience in an educational setting. Indiana licensure as a school counselor.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a secondary and/or residential school setting; experience working with highly able students. Knowledge of federal and state laws that affect pupil services, special education and student due process issues.
