The Ball State University is seeking a school counselor for Burris Laboratory School. The school counselor supervises BSU school counseling interns at the undergraduate and graduate level. Additionally, the counselor meets with middle and high school students to enhance their social, emotional and academic wellbeing. The school counselor is also responsible for scholarships, college planning and AP testing.
Burris Laboratory School was established to provide a stellar K-12 educational environment in which pre-service teachers from Ball State University observe and provide learning opportunities for students with highly effective teachers using innovative instructional strategies aligned with Indiana standards.

Position Function: Will work in a laboratory environment with elementary, middle school and high school students, grades kindergarten through twelve. The school counselor will provide counseling and guidance services to students.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university by date of appointment.
Minimum Experience: Experience working in student advising and/or counseling position. May be as internship.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in education, counseling, or related field of study by date of employment. One year of experience as a school counselor. Evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies; evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with exceptionalities.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
The salary range for this position is: $48,500 – $74,312
