Job Description
Ball State University welcomes application for an Assistant Lecturer of Spanish at Indiana Academy. The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors. The Indiana Academy is located on the campus of Ball State University. This is a full-time contract position for the academic year that is renewable based on satisfactory job performance. Primary responsibilities include teaching three sections of Spanish that include Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III, and/or AP Spanish. The successful candidate will be eligible for dual credit certification and offer these courses to students for college credit. Indiana Academy faculty, ranked in the top 15 in the nation among public high school faculty, have the opportunity to create new, unique courses based on their specializations. Faculty work together across disciplines to provide a one-of-a-kind education to Indiana’s high-ability students.

Duties and Responsibilities: Anticipated assignments are 1 section of Spanish Ii and 2 sections of Spanish IiI plus 2 hour additional duty.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Spanish, Teaching Foreign Language with an emphasis in Spanish, Second Language Acquisition with an emphasis in Spanish, or a related field connected to teaching Spanish. Previous teaching experience at the secondary or undergraduate collegiate level.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability and willingness to receive dual credit certification in Spanish.
