Educational Requirements for the Position
Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Two years of administrative support experience or experience in a related field. Preferred one year of experience working with academic programming in higher education and one year of IT support experience. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Supports administrative and operational processes for the School of Nursing. Support is provided for a broad distribution of key academic functions including digital processes such as testing, database management/reporting, onsite IT, coordination for the office of assistant directors, and events and communications.
Provides digital processes support by managing, maintaining, and supporting faculty & students in the use of testing software (e.g. ExamSoft). Supports clinical placement, assessment, and other academic functions. Builds, supports, and generates reports for databases maintained throughout the SON (e.g. Anthology, Project Concert, Blackboard). Acts as first responder for faculty and staff classroom IT issues. Assists with the management of calendars, individual and group meetings, and other logistics. Coordinates operational processes. Provides small project support. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Coordinates with multiple vendors for returns and problem reconciliation. Must have the ability to handle large volumes of data entry with speed and accuracy. Requires the ability to perform work of considerable complexity which involves working independently towards general results, devising new work methods, interpreting policy, or meeting new conditions necessitating a high degree of ingenuity, initiative, and judgment. Must be able to work collaboratively with coworkers and provide a high level of customer service at all times. May devote from 25% to 50% of time to routine contacts by telephone with employees of other work units in obtaining or supplying information relating to work. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement. Attention and care is required in the performance of duties to prevent injury to self or others. Requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple long and short -term projects. Must have a commitment to student or customer -centered approaches and support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
