Ball State University is located in Muncie, Indiana, on an attractive campus 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis. Approximately 22,000 graduate and undergraduate students enroll in one of eight academic colleges that offer 120 undergraduate programs. Position Function: The Athletic Director oversees all aspects of the athletic department; the Athletic Department is responsible for K-12 athletics for Burris Laboratory School and the Indiana Academy. A significant function of this position is collaborating with Ball State University facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities are as follows
- Scheduling and maintaining schedules for games, practices, transportation, officials, scorekeepers, announcers, ticket takers, and all other associated roles.
- Hiring and evaluating coaches
- Maintaining equipment, uniforms, fees, pay for coaches and officials
- Compliance with athletic policies, procedures, and by-laws
- Collaboration with Ball State University facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Experience coaching K-12 athletics, Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or related field.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Athletic Director experience, Indiana Educator’s License, Master’s degree in Sports Management
