Burris Laboratory School is a public K-12 school which was established to provide a stellar educational environment in which pre-service teachers from Ball State University observe and provide learning opportunities for students with highly effective teachers using innovative instructional strategies aligned with Indiana standards. The school which is comprised of approximately 670 students, is a vibrant place for learning and experimentation. For example, middle school teachers are developing new experiential learning curriculum and there is a focus on school counselor and principal collaboration to support students’ social-emotional well-being. Position Function: The Assistant Principal provides instructional support to teachers and students at Burris Laboratory School. Supports the Principal in meeting goals established in cooperation with Ball State University’s Teachers College.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in education, school administration, or related field of study by date of employment. Three years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle, or secondary school level.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with university pre-service and/or student teachers; experience working in a laboratory school; previous school administration experience.
