- Ph.D. from an APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Science. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2022.
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses related to Clinical Science/Psychology and other psychology courses.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Demonstrated potential to develop and maintain an active program of research in the area of Clinical Psychology.
- Evidence of research and scholarly activities (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations).
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
- Effective teaching and/or other instructionally-related activities experience.
- Open to considering any research area within clinical science/clinical psychology, with particular preference for applications with a research emphasis on addressing and/or eliminating mental health disparities may include the study of underlying mechanisms, risk factors, and/or treatment of mental illness (e.g., addictive behaviors, eating disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders) in underserved populations.
- Demonstrated commitment to mentoring first generation and underrepresented college students (e.g., involving undergraduates in faculty-directed research and/or mentoring undergraduate students on independent research)
- Interest in the Master of Arts in Psychological Research program through chairing master's thesis projects, involving graduate students in faculty-directed research, and teaching graduate-level courses related to Clinical Science.
- Experience in or potential for generating external funding,
- Demonstrated commitment to and/or experience in contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment.
- Experience in or demonstrated commitment to service at the department, university, community, or professional level.
No clinical supervision of students. (Psychology Department does not offer clinical training.)
- Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses in Clinical Science (e.g., Abnormal Psychology, Intro to Clinical Psychology, Graduate Seminar in Clinical Psychology). [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
- Develop new courses in specialty area (e.g., multicultural psychology, culture and mental health)
- Maintain and engage in research, scholarly and creative activities in the area of Clinical Science leading to publications
- Supervise students in research activities including undergraduate projects and Masters' theses.
- Participate in significant service to the department, college, university, and community
