Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The Department of History at Sam Houston State University invites applications for two full-time positions at the rank of Lecturer, both to begin Spring 2023. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities include both halves of the United States History Survey course, as well as both halves of the Department’s World History Survey. Based on departmental needs, the successful candidate may occasionally teach upper-division, undergraduate electives in their area(s) of specialization. The department is especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, and who have experience delivering dynamic courses to diverse student populations. Online teaching experience is a plus.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Ph.D. in History required prior to appointment.
