Job Summary
Under general supervision incumbent in this position will manage CNSM schedule of classes and all curriculum and articulation matters. The tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: communicating class scheduling policies and procedures and serving as a resource to departmental schedulers, managing approval of scheduling requests from academic departments, serving as College resource on class scheduling policy, regulations, and exceptions, managing service indicators (holds) for CNSM academic advising and Dean's Office, managing and monitoring individual access to scheduling and advising systems, supporting Advising Center and academic departments in enrollment management for CNSM students.
Key Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the AD, department chairs, and department schedulers communicates university scheduling policy with the end goal of fully meeting needs of CSULB students. Serves as CNSM liaison to CSULB ES.
- Independently manages day-to-day CNSM class scheduling operations and provides training to schedulers and chairs as needed.
- Work in collaboration with the AD and Senior Academic Advisor and Data Analyst to ensure that student success and enrollment data are effectively used in various student support programs within the college such as freshman and transfer SOAR, mandatory freshman advising, mandatory transfer advising, early alert programs, and student surveys.
- Collaborates with professional advisors and faculty advisors on communication and utilization of available data in various advising situations.
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the college curriculum process for the entire scope of CNSM curriculum. Serves as a recording secretary of the CNSM Curriculum Committee. Assembles and prepares appropriate forms for the University Curriculum Office.
- Work with the Dean and the Associate Deans to collect and tabulate data into reports from institutional research, electronic advising systems, surveys, and requests for information.
- Proficient in all technical aspects of work assignments, familiar with standard office procedures and practices, and capable of adapting to various organizational structures.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse faculty, staff, students, and public.
- Capable of planning, prioritizing, analyzing, and coordinating tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledgeable of College and University policies and procedures to efficiently provide various administrative services.
- Possesses excellent language skills, including spelling, grammar, consistency, and accuracy.
- Skilled in writing professional and concise electronic posts.
- Able to operate standard office equipment, such as computers, laser printers, calculators, fax machines, copy machines, electric staplers, multi-line phone systems, voice mail, and troubleshoot related issues.
- Experienced with CSULB website and software applications, including CSMS/Peoplesoft, MyCSULB, systems, web browsers, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree or equivalent and two (2) years of related experience required. Three (3) or more years of experience in enrollment management and/or usage data in academic advising/student success or experience as transfer evaluator or graduation evaluator preferred.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: $3,518 - $5,417 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,518 - $6,791 per month

Time Base
Full-time temporary position for two (2) years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
