Educational Requirements for the Position
Associates Degree in a related field. Three years of related experience or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs advanced specialist duties for the department, division, and the university.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs specialist duties. Assists with creation and maintenance of academic courses in Banner. Serves as liaison with campus departments to ensure academic information regarding catalog, section, course title, course hours, course attributes, and capacities are accurate. Assists with training of academic department staff regarding schedule software and procedures.
Performs inspections and audits. Assists in developing policies and interprets policies and procedures. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence. May be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and participating in special projects. Performs and maintains the daily operations and maintenance of academic, student, and course records in the Registrar’s Office. Provides TSI Support to campus advisors, campus staff, and students. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic understanding of office operations and system functionality. Verbal and written communication skills. Chooses appropriate technology tools for tasks. Demonstrates functional experience with Microsoft Office or similar productivity software. Capable and willing to share technical skills and knowledge with others. Ability to identify problems and consider potential solutions. Integrate cultural awareness to assess one’s own skill set regarding equity and inclusivity and develop strategies to increase one’s understanding of other cultures. Ability to communicate and interact with others individually and in groups. Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with a variety of constituents. Awareness of how one interacts with others. Includes verbal and non-verbal communication skills and listening skills. Has a basic understanding of institutional policies, procedures, and resources; state and federal law; professional standards; student privacy issues; and student record keeping. General comprehension of the various means of recordkeeping and the related systems. Knows how to locate and use available resources to find answers. Identifies interconnection of systems. Willingness to seek out and rely on the expertise of others both to improve decision-making and as a means of expanding expertise.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
