Job Summary
This position will assist the Shark Lab in the administration of the State and Foundation accounts of the Shark Lab by analyzing, reconciling, and processing fiscal records and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Shark Lab Director by administering the fiscal programs and accounts - General Fund, 49er Foundation and CSULB Foundation - overseeing purchasing, subcontracts, and travel, which includes creating and maintaining spreadsheets for over 5 different funds.
- Compile, analyze, reconcile and monitor monthly fiscal records and reports for all funds administered by the Shark Lab and provide projections as needed, i.e. student assistant account.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Shark Lab Director and staff by answering fiscal policy and procedural questions and provide follow-up of fiscal matters, investigate, and analyze fiscal data and information and provide written documentation, interact with Purchasing, the Controller's Office and University Shipping/Receiving in order to resolve related department fiscal problems.
- Interact with vendors and/or their accounts payable offices to resolve problems or disputes relating to duplication of supplies, nonworking equipment, increased charges, special packing, and handling, etc.
Knowledge of and experience with CMS, Windows, Excel, and MS Word. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and communicate with diverse groups. Good accounting analytical skills to maintain department budgets. Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in performing complex fiscal skills. Ability to interpret and apply complex written policies and procedures and solve fiscal related problems. Ability to work with continuous interruptions and in solving fiscal related problems.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Equivalent to four (4) years of administrative support experience required.

Compensation
Up to $1,819/month depending on experience. The salary range for this classification is $1,638 to $2,574 per month.

Time Base
Half-time (20 hours per week) position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
