Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide office reception and administrative support to the operations within Beach Building Services, in a variety of routine office clerical and administrative support functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages calendar for Associate Vice President, Director of Planning and Sustainability, and Director of Business Operations. Assists with scheduling meetings, interviews and events.
- Monitors and processes select financial and non-confidential HR documents for various functions within BBS.
- Requests and monitors service of office equipment. Serves as main point of contact for supply orders via Staples. Ensures stock of office supplies are maintained; maintains various office logs; tracks and submits Copier reports.
- Provides general administrative support to Director, Environmental Health & Safety and EHS staff.
- Creates moderate to complex correspondence, reports, documents, various tables, forms and charts. Provides data entry support in PlanOn as needed.
- General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Orientation and understanding of customer services methodologies for internal and external customers requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn, independently interpret and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures. Ability to identify deviations from applicable policies or procedures.
- Ability to identify and solve standard problems and refer more complex problems to appropriate staff.
- Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough, and, at times, creative solutions.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience - Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
Physical Summary
- Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034 per month.
Benefits

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for one (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
