Educational Requirements for the PositionBachelor’s degree in business administration or closely related field. Four years relevant business experience, business/economic development, finance, small business consulting, business management, banking, and/or small business ownership. Masters degree preferred. Banking or public accounting experience preferred. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Provides professional business and management advising in the areas of general business, financing, marketing, bookkeeping, and accounting to startup small businesses in Montgomery County.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and the State of Texas. The continuation of all SBDC positions are contingent on the continuation of funding from both the SBA and the State of Texas at current levels.
This position is headquartered in the SHSU SBDC Office at the SHSU The Woodlands Center, Montgomery County. Requires some travel locally (Montgomery and Walker County). Out of town travel may be required periodically.
