Job Summary

The Admin Coordinator provides administrative support to the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), the CHHS ASM, and CHHS Departments, as needed. This Coordinator will be assigned to support various Departments, Department Chairs/Directors, faculty, staff, and students in a wide variety of areas, including budgeting and finance, communications, scheduling, record keeping, and personnel matters. The Admin Coordinator also provides customer service for its constituents: faculty, staff, students, and the public-at-large. This position may support multiple department units at one time.
Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Data Entry & Purchasing: Performs data entry of expenditures, reconciles funds, and reviews fund balances, under the guidance of CHHS administration and the Chair/Director.
  • Customer Service & Faculty Support: Provides customer service to students, faculty, administrators, and the public, including answering phones and greeting Department visitors.
  • Class Scheduling Support: Assists Chair/Director in tracking faculty schedule availability and preferences.
  • Inventory Control: Keeps inventory of office equipment and supplies.
  • Personnel Administration: Provide administrative support to Chair/Director for recruitment process of faculty, staff, student assistants, and independent contractors per CSULB/CHHS policies and procedures.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of various Microsoft Products, including Microsoft Office. Experience with Microsoft Excel. Experience in PeopleSoft and Sharepoint.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required. Experience with purchasing and managing a budget, preferred.
Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: $3,505 - $4,507 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,508 per month.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for (1) year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
