In the role of Financial Analyst working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Financial Analyst assists with development of department’s annual budget and investigate variances between budget and actual results. Meets with primary investigators to review current and anticipated funding sources. Develops business plans and proformas using BI cubes and other available data. Reviews, approves, and/or submits purchase orders, checks requisitions, and expense reports. Assists with compensation planning and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing the department’s annual budget submission, including wRVU, patient revenue, staffing, general ledger, research, grant, and endowment components.
- Investigate monthly budget vs. actual variances and provide a written summary of causes, year-end impacts, and possible mitigation options each month. Identify and propose solutions to inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Meet with primary investigators to review anticipated funding sources and uses, create project/grant budgets, and prepare monthly project/grant funding reports for distribution to primary investigators and department leaders.
- Track endowments, gifts, and other project accounts throughout the year and distribute quarterly activity summary reports and project-balance projections.
- Develop business plans supporting the various MCW missions and create time-sensitive financial projections based on limited or imperfect information by using existing data and facts along with reasonable, clearly written assumptions to guide decision makers.
- Review, approve, and/or submit purchase orders, check requisitions, and expense reports in accordance with MCW policies and Oracle security.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Specifications
- Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum Required Experience: 5 years.
Preferred Experience: Analysis of financial and/or budget data for a large physician practice or hospital system involving a complex, automated accounting system. Significant experience working with Microsoft Excel.
