Job Summary
As a member of the Leadership Group, the Assistant Registrar will assist the University Registrar with review and implementation of policies and procedures in support of student success.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Registrar, Academic Scheduling & Registration and Records is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the administration of processes and student services related to registration and records and academic scheduling unit. This position utilizes project management skills to facilitate operational objectives, gathers and conducts analysis of statistical data to identify trends and recommend innovative and improved processes including technical solutions that will enhance the units' objectives and support student success.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects; knowledge of project management methodology and tools.
• Understanding and experience in the use of technology in the accomplishment of project objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply academic and administrative policies and procedures to registration, records, grading, and academic scheduling processes and systems.
• Proven ability to analyze user needs and translate into detailed specifications.
• Proven ability to design, develop, implement and maintain complex technical rules in support of business processes.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret statistical reports to identify trends.
• Demonstrated ability to research data to analyze and recommend changes in processing and/or procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and manage staff with full knowledge of personnel policies and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate workflow.
• Thorough knowledge of registration processing systems and applications.
• Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field (education, business, social sciences) and a minimum of three years of related experience required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of five years of related experience strongly desired.
