Job Summary

This position works under the guidance of the Advising Center Director and provides support to the Director and Senior Advisors in tasks such as updating and overseeing records, processing, and collecting data, and implementing administrative procedures.

Additionally, this position will focus on supporting student success by undertaking administrative support projects related to incoming and first-year students. Specifically, the position will be responsible for conducting administrative outreach to students to promote enrollment, facilitate student success, and ensure timely graduation. The outreach efforts will be based on the guidance and information provided by the senior advisors.

  • Assist with administrative processes.
  • Outreach to students based on instruction from senior advisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with Excel, email, and high level of comfort with computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and Sharepoint are highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience

Equivalent to one year of administrative support experience required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: $1,669 - $1,759 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training

CSU Classification Salary Range: $1,669.00 - $2,048.50 per month

Time Base

Part-time (.50 time-base/20 hours per week) temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
