Educational and Experience Requirement:
Associates Degree in related field. Four years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs complex administrative assistant duties of the De-Escalation grant within the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT).
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs complex administrative assistant duties for the De-Escalation Center grant within LEMIT. Provides departmental or university information to students, departments, and staff. Collaborates with other regional de-escalation training centers and national training centers in reference to de-escalation trainings. Schedules appointments and activities. Reviews, revises, and interprets policies and procedures. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Attends meetings and takes notes. Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:
Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software, as well as the use of social media in the performance of duties. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
This is a full-time, temporary, benefits eligible, grant funded position expected to end on or before 8/31/2024. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.
