Educational and Experience Requirement:
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Two years relevant clerical experience or experience in a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Performs complex clerical duties for the Psychological Services Center and the Department of Psychology and Philosophy.
Performs complex clerical functions to include data and document processing and provides general customer service. Performs data entry, verifies data and files. Performs receptionist duties, directs phones and walk-in customers, and schedules appointments. Runs standard reports. Solves routine problems to complete tasks of a repetitive nature. Receives and distributes mail. Oversees billing and filing of court reports. Orders and maintains supplies. Responds to students and faculty regarding legal risk management while handling legal questions from attorneys. Handles P-card purchases. Assists new and incoming doctoral students with new-hire paperwork. Responds and/or triages complaints and concerns from mental health patients. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires basic knowledge of general clerical functions. May require the ability to perform word processing. Requires accuracy in finding files, entering facts or figures, and operation of office equipment. Requires accuracy in all duties. Requires frequent interaction with the public and students. Must have the ability to effectively articulate information. This position handles highly confidential information. Incumbent expected to uphold the Psychological Service Center’s standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Knowledge in standard office equipment, Microsoft Word, QuickBooks, Adobe Contribute and/or Dreamweaver preferable. Knowledge in Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant rules.
