Ball State University welcomes applications for two Assistant Director of Financial Aid vacancies in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The Assistant Director performs need analysis, completes verification, determines cost of attendance and packages financial aid; exercises professional judgment when reviewing student documentation; monitors Satisfactory Academic Progress of students and communicates with students on strategies for maintaining progress; assists in the review of consumer information, web site information, as well as office publications and forms to ensure they are current, consistent and effective. The Assistant Director supports Cardinal Central staff in advising students regarding financial aid application, award calculations, financial aid notifications and disbursements. The Assistant Director interprets and communicates to Cardinal Central staff information concerning federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations, policies and procedures so these can be communicated to current and prospective students and their parents. The Assistant Director promotes financial aid awareness through verbal and written communication at outreach events and other requested information sessions.

Position Function: Determine financial aid eligibility, perform need analysis and determine appropriate aid packages for students. Relay this information to support Cardinal Central staff so they can provide financial aid advising information to students, parents and other seeking financial aid assistance.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience: At least two years of financial aid experience based upon job qualifications and the provided rankings of the required responsibilities.

Minimum Other: Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with all publics; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations; skilled in using personal computer.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. At least five years of financial aid experience based upon job qualifications and the provided rankings of the required responsibilities.

The salary range for this position is: $44,000 – $51,500
