Chief Development & Marketing Officer: The Chief Development & Marketing Officer (CDMO) oversees, plans, directs, and executes all development and marketing activities, including the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective donors for unrestricted and special project funding, as well as the implementation of outreach and marketing services by performing the following duties personally or through supporting staff. Identifies, targets, and solicits potential contributors for existing programs (e.g., Annual Conference, Capitol Forum, and International Conference sponsorships) as well as for special project funds. Plans and coordinates fund drives for special projects and events, including major capital and endowment campaigns. Provides leadership and direction for personal solicitation efforts to members of staff, volunteer organizations, “Friends of HACU,” committees, and governing board members, according to special interests or capabilities. A Master’s degree in a related area is required with a minimum of five years’ experience in development, marketing, or corporate and public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a terminal degree is desirable. (Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and exceptional track record of success in fund-raising may be considered. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
