Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology related field, Business, Project Management, or other related field. Five years of related experience with at least one year of professional management or project management experience. A combination of education, experience, certifications, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

The Director of Enterprise Solutions will provide leadership, vision, and management to the Enterprise Solutions department overseeing the technical infrastructure, application support, and ongoing custom development of the University Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and integrated services.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Director of Enterprise Solutions will be responsible for providing leadership, vision, and management to the Enterprise Solutions department. Develops departmental strategies and processes to optimize operations, align business and applications strategies, deliver application architectures, and evaluate emerging technologies. The Director will be responsible for portfolio governance and modernization, organizing applications governance teams, people and talent management, application security, quality and testing, application/product development, and owning overall digital software solutions & products.

The Director will establish guidelines for and oversee the requirements, specification, design, development, implementation and support of new applications and changes to existing enterprise systems and software packages. Leads a teams of software engineers, conduct departmental meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide growth paths for staff. Other responsibilities will include planning, maintaining departmental budget, supervising Enterprise Solutions staff, conduct performance appraisals, delegate work assignments among Enterprise Solutions personnel, recruit, hire, and provide appropriate training for Enterprise Solutions staff.

Ensure University practices comply with all policy and regulatory guidelines, maintain the integrity and continual operation of the ERP system and custom development, and own the selection, building, and deployment of technologies. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in various disciplines toward the goal of information technology success. Maintains important contacts with other professional and managerial staff in other departments and divisions, University Administrators and Executives, State and Federal agencies, and outside vendors. This role requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within department workgroups, throughout the University with professional or managerial staff, and with outside vendors. Interprets and implements complex policies, statutes, and regulations affecting the department or university level. Work requires critical judgment, a high level of initiative, and complex reasoning to solve division and university issues.

Up to 40% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
