Educational and Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or degree in Business related field with 15 credit hours in accounting from a four-year college. No prior experience required.
Nature & Purpose of Position:
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepares journal entries, allocates financial transactions, and recommends appropriate accounting treatment of financial transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs statistical analyses to determine trends and estimates. Prepares narrative reports that explain findings and recommendations. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital. Reviews orders and vouchers of financial entries and investigates any errors or inconsistencies in these entries. Determines proper handling of financial transactions and makes the appropriate recommendations. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and University policy and procedures. Assists with various special projects as needed. Performs other assigned duties.
Other Specifications:
Ability to follow generally accepted accounting principles and determine best action for transactions. Knowledge of Microsoft properties, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to investigate transactions, correspond with other departments in the organization, perform simple math and generate reports for findings and recommendations.
